Sylvia May Smith

Sylvia May Smith, 92, died Sunday May 2, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant, MI.  She was a resident of Danville, IL most of her life.  She was born August 24, 1928 in Veedersburg, IN the daughter of James and Gladys May (Harper) VanNote.

Sylvia attended Veedersburg Schools, was a homemaker, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed her family.  She resided in Mt. Pleasant, MI with her son and family the past four years.

She married Robert Wayne Smith April 16, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2005.    Her parents, two daughters, Linda Dorwart, Katherine Delorosa, a brother, and a sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son William Smith and wife Toni, of Mt. Pleasant, MI, a daughter Penny Powers and husband Kevin of St. Louis, MO, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two nephews, and two nieces.

Funeral services 11:00 A. M EDT Thursday May 6, 2021 at Shelby Funeral Home, 622 Third Street, Covington, IN with calling 10:00 A. M until time of services at 11:00 A.
