Tsuneko K Witsman

February 20, 1932 — July 12, 2016

Tsuneko K. Witsman, 84, of Covington died at 8:27 P. M. Tuesday July 12, 2016 at the Waters of Covington where she had resided the past three years. She was born in Kofu, Japan February 20, 1932 the daughter of Kuneharu and Satu Kubotera.

She moved to Covington in 1995 and previously resided at Kingman, Bunker Hill, IN, and White Sands, NM. She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Win One Class, and Kingman Friends and Neighbors Homemakers.

Tsuneko loved spending time with her family, gardening, crocheting, baking, cooking and all animals.

Tsuneko married Leeman F. Witsman February 14, 1957 in Tokyo, Japan, where he was stationed with the U S Army. He died October 1, 1986.

Surviving is a daughter Kathy (Keith) High of Covington, a grandson Grant Easter of Covington; three sisters, Nagako Lorenz of Santa Clarita, CA; Mitsuko Ishida of Tokyo, Japan; and Kimiko Kubotera of Iida, Japan. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Friday July 15, 2016 at 1:00 P. M. (EDT) at Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Roberta Cook officiating. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 A. M. until time of services at 1:00 P. M.
