Virginia Irene Wilkins

Virginia Irene Wilkins, 73 of Covington died at 6:05 p. m. Thursday July 4, 2013 at Danville Regional Rehab, Danville, IN after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born December 18, 1939 at Danville, IL the daughter of the late Donald and Mary Virginia (Grubbs) Switzer.
Virginia was a life resident of Wabash Township and a 1957 graduate of Perrysville High School. She was a beautician for 45 years retiring in 2008. Virginia was a member of West Liberty Church of Christ and Wabash Township Garden Club, and a former 4-H Club member for 10 years. She was an avid card player and enjoyed mushrooming.
Surviving are two sons, Granger (Julie) Wilkins of Roachdale, and Travis L. Wilkins of Covington; 3 grandchildren, Hunter, Ashley, and Emma Wilkins; and several cousins.
Funeral services 10:00 a. m. EDT Tuesday July 9, 2013 at Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Mick Buchanan and Kevin Wildman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 to 8:00 p. m. Monday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
