Waunita Della McGinnis

June 22, 1932 — September 6, 2010

Waunita DeVoss McGinnis, 78 of Danville completed her lifes journey at 7:45 a. m. September 6, 2010 in Provena USMC, and is now in the company of God.
She was born June 22, 1932 in Danville, IL the daughter of Manley and Helen Wyckoff DeVoss. She attended Danville grade schools and was a graduate of Danville High School. A resident of Danville most of her life, she formerly lived at Crawfordsville and Wallace.
She married Clifford McGinnis and had one son, Terry McGinnis, whom she cherished. Waunita was a homemaker, and will be most remembered for her deep love of her family. Wuanita is survived by her brothers, Francis DeVoss and Kenneth DeVoss, both of Covington, her nieces: Julie (Frank) Fitzwater, Brenda (Darren) Stokes, Debbie (Steve) Kotcher, Laura DeVoss, and one special nephew Kenneth (Paulette) Miller, nine great nieces and nephews, and six great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend Mary Hinkle of Covington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, sister, Marcella Miller, a niece and a nephew.
A celebration of life visitation will be held 12:00 to 2:00 p. m. EDT Wednesday September 8, 2010 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p. m. EDT Wednesday in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville with Bill Cook officiating. Following the services she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband and son. Her love and kindness to everyone she knew will always be remembered. The family requests memorial contributions are made to the Alzheimers Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
