Wayne M. Rowe, 82 of North Port, FL died at 5:15 a. m. Sunday May 1, 2011 at Faucet Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte. He was born April, 2, 1929 in Covington the son of Henry Matthew and Hazel Lewsader Rowe.
Wayne married Barbara Ann Taylor October 19, 1947 at Urbana, IL. She died January 6, 2011. Surviving are two sons, Harold (Cathy) Rowe of North Port, FL and Dennis Lee (Sue) Rowe of Ft. Pierce, FL; a sister Mildred Taylor of Williamsport; 2 brothers, Richard (Judy) Rowe of Panama City Beach, FL and David (Kay) Rowe of Veedersburg, 3 grandchildren, Tersia (Ron) Preast, Clydia (Frank) Wilson, Heidi (Lee) Stone, 11 great grandchildren, several in-laws, nieces and nephews. His parents, a sister Helen Swingle and a brother Joe Rowe preceded him in death.
Wayne attended Covington Schools and operated Rowes Garage in Covington for 30 years. He was a member of Covington First Church of Christ. They moved to Florida in 1980. He and Barbara owned Big O Drive-Through Beverage in Okeechobee for many years.
