Winona Nonie Spring, 95, of Covington died at 12:00 A. M. Wednesday May 18, 2016 at the Waters of Covington. She was born April 18, 1921 at Coshocton, OH the daughter of Walter Clark and Mary Ethel (Shafer) Reddick.
A Covington resident since 1946 and formerly of Canton, OH. She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church. Nona enjoyed working at the Ben Franklin Store, Grab-It-Here, IGA, and at Covington Senior Center. She and her husband had owned the Tastee Freeze.
Nona married Robert E. Spring September 20, 1939 and he died September 21, 1989. Surviving are two daughters, Jeannette Frey of Midlothian, VA; Judith (Charles) Wallerich of Covington; a son Robert B. Spring of Covington; eight grandchildren, Tony Wallerich, Brenda (Tim) Berryman, Angela (Chris) Keirn, Lora (Bill) Sorrell, Amy (Scott) Manwaring, Joelle (Brian) Dowers, Cheryl Christy Frey Chambers, and Jimmy Frey; fourteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Her parents, five brothers, six sisters, a step son, and a granddaughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Friday May 27, 2016 at 1:00 P. M. EDT at Shelby Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Kent officiating and burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 A. M. until time of services at 1:00 P. M. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com. Visitation
