Covington Earl Clifford Ward, 89 died at 8:00 p. m. Tuesday November 2, 2010 at Chateau Center, Willowbrook, IL. He was born June 7, 1921 at Covington the son of Noel Clifford and Jessie Elizabeth Osborn Ward.
He graduated from Covington High School in 1939, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a sales representative many years for Coffing Hoist and Duff Norton before retiring. He lived at Glenwood, IL before returning to Covington in 1990. His memberships included: First Church of Christ, Fountain Lodge #60, F. & A. M., Scottish Rite Valley of Chicago, Medinah Shrine, Lions Club.
Earl married Helen L. Brown May 25, 1945 and she died September 14, 1980. He married Marlene Burns April 17, 1982 and she died August 27, 1990. He married Pauline Walters Brakley October 27, 1990 in Covington. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Kapolnek of Elk Grove Village, IL, and Deborah (George) McClarence of New Lenox, IL, a sister Lorraine (Don) Wallace, Charlotte, NC, five step children, 4 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. His parents, a daughter Christine Triado, and a sister Mary Ellen Wren preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Noon until time of services at 2:00 p. m. Saturday November 6, 2010 at Shelby Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Dewlen will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military services by the V F W and American Legion. Memorials requested to Walther Cancer Foundation or Southwest Transplant Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home
